Now through January 1 shoppers can choose from a wide range of children's books to purchase and donate to one of eleven Northeast Arkansas agencies who serve the children of our community. Participating agencies are: Paces • City Youth Ministries • Hispanic Community Services • Literacy League • The Children’s Shelter • The Learning Center • YMCA • The Salvation Army • White River Battered Women’s Shelter • Women’s Crisis Center • Willa Black Daycare Center. Store hours are Mon.-Thur. 10-9, Fri.and Sat. 10-10 and Sunday 11-8.

Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC in partnership with United Way of Northeast Arkansas and the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas are asking for your help to feed the need in our community. Top Three Needs: canned meats like tuna or chicken, macaroni and cheese, and peanut butter. Admission is FREE, for this holiday kickoff of the shopping season at the Mall at Turtle Creek, but in honor of Santa’s arrival and in the holiday spirit of giving, non-perishable food donations will be accepted by United Way Volunteers at the door to support the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas. Show times are: Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:30pm; Saturday Nov. 21 at 1 and 4 pm; Sunday Nov. 22 at 1 and 4 pm.

Please Join Us for the 7th Annual Gary Schuchardt 5K Trail Run/Walk • June 13, 2009 • 8 a.m. • Craighead Forest Park
Last
year over 200 participants came out to run and walk the only trail run
in the Ridge Runner Athletic Club Running & Walking Series to
support United Way and the Metro Rotary Club. The proceeds from the
race are used to support the many organizations that are funded by
United Way and also to fund two scholarships given annually by the
Metro Rotary Club. |

| For the fourth year, United Way of Northeast Arkansas will be
collecting school supplies for children in need in our area, in
partnership with Crowley’s Ridge Development Council, KAIT8, and Triple
FM. The schools benefiting this year include Corning School District,
Cross County School District, Wynne Schools, Greene County Tech,
Marmaduke, Jackson Co. School District, Newport, Hoxie, Walnut Ridge,
Marked Tree, Trumann, Maynard, Oak Ridge Central, Jonesboro Public
Schools, Nettleton School District, and SUCCESS School.
United Way’s “Stuff the Bus” began in Northwest Arkansas years ago and
has now grown into a statewide initiative. |
