Join United Way of Northeast Arkansas, Craighead County Community Foundation and Crowley's Ridge Development Council to support Northeast Arkansas neighbors struggling in the economic fallout of COVID-19.
As we move into social distancing and self-quarantine, it’s natural to feel isolated. Staying away from other people, though necessary, doesn’t fulfill our need to take action, to do something in the face of this crisis. Fortunately, even in isolation, you can help the most vulnerable among us. Because we are never truly alone in our human community.
United Way of Northeast Arkansas, Craighead County Community Foundation and Crowley’s Ridge Development Council (CRDC) have joined together to help our community as Northeast Arkansas confronts COVID-19. Along with the severe public health crisis, many in our community are facing a financial crisis that has no clear end in sight. The most vulnerable members of our community, many of whom already face health and economic disparities, will be disproportionately affected by the global pandemic.
As workers are losing wages and tips due to restaurant restrictions, business closures and reduced working hours, many nonprofits are experiencing an immediate increased demand for services and support, requesting referrals for basic human needs. We expect this to continue to soar and are counting on community support to meet the rapidly growing need.
Your gift supports community resources that serve struggling families in Craighead, Cross, Greene, Jackson and Poinsett counties. As families face uncertain financial difficulties in the coming months, donations to the Northeast Arkansas COVID-19 Fund will help families struggling to pay rent and utility bills, keeping their lights on, water running and air conditioning cooling as we move into the spring and summer months.
Even in these uncertain times, no one is powerless to make a difference. Small acts, taken together across the country, can change the course of the pandemic, bolster those facing economic challenges, and protect the most vulnerable.
Your donation will ensure that-- in collaboration with community partners and donors-- we are able to meet the critical human services for our most vulnerable in this time of crisis.
Funds will be dispersed by CRDC. If you need help with rent or utility payments due to lack of wages related to COVID-19, please call 870-333-5131. This line has been established to help clients specifically with COVID-19 financial needs. Those seeking assistance will be required to complete an application with CRDC.
